Macomb photograph collection consists of two distinct periods and two varied subjects. There are two photo albums of Macomb's visits to Fort Monroe, Virginia; Fort Warren, Massachusetts; and Fort Preble and Fort Scammel, Maine, 1886. Photos of the architecture of the forts, inside and out, plus photos of members of the garrisons and their families predominate. The second box contains photos of the Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905) when Macomb went to the Orient as a military attachè with the Russian armies in Manchuria. These photos show Russian army personnel, equipment, weapons, and installations.
